‘Rhythm & Flow’ Winner, D Smoke Releases ‘Inglewood High’ Project

Since my roommate moved out, the amount of “reality” programming watched in my home has dropped to zero. So, while I’m aware of shows like Black Ink Crew and Rhythm & Flow, watching them hasn’t exactly been high on my “to do” list.

Naturally, I was unaware of the winner of the latter show, D Smoke, nor was I aware that that he was the brother of TDE’s SiR until… like… three days ago. Smoke, upon winning the show, released a new project Inglewood High, and I was drawn to it because… I actually used to live next to that school for a few years.

(Those that aren’t familiar, it was in an episode of Insecure. Still unfamiliar? Former NBA player Paul Pierce went to that school.)

Alas, the project isn’t bad. In fact, it’s the complete opposite. It’s short (a seven-track, 20-minute drop) and boasts features from fellow SoCal locals like Terrace Martin, Tiffany Gouche (her song “Good Girl” is so fire), Sha’leah Nikole and Tommy Sketch, and there’s one song where he’s rapping completely in Spanish. The album is a legit groove, however, and those who haven’t listened to it may enjoy it too. So, here you go.
