Tory Lanez Takes It Back to the Early 2000’s with ‘Chixtape 5’

The wait is over, Tory Lanez has dropped Chixtape 5.

Nearly three years after dropping Chixape 4, Tory has finally come through with the the highly-anticipated fifth installment – and he doesn’t disappoint.

“2000-2006, I want to personally thank these six years for being the main inspiration to the samples and nostalgia used on Chixtape 5,” Tory says. “I have never went this hard on the production of any of my albums.”

A collection of songs using samples from the first half of the 2000s, as detailed by the artwork with Ashanti using a Sidekick, Lanez took it a step further by inviting the original artists to help rock the revised versions.

On top of flipping “I’m Sprung” with T-Pain on “Jerry Sprunger,” the Brampton native also calls on Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Trey Songz, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Jagged Edge, Mya, Chris Brown, Mario, The-Dream, and more to help assist on the project’s 17 tracks.
