Last week, I helped reintroduce y’all to The Off Daze–a group consisting of CunninLynguists members Deacon the Villain and Natti alongside fellow Kentucky native Sheisty Khrist–with “Where Do We Go Now?“
At the tail end of the post, I hinted at an upcoming project they recorded with a talented musician named Mayiia. And today, the time has arrived for the foursome to officially kick off the campaign with “Sun Moon Stars.”
“Along the path of making music you really meet some remarkable people,” The Off Daze said in a statement. “And no matter how long you sit in a studio amongst keyboards, guitars, microphones, or any other random assortment of instruments, some journeys just come down to chance meetings. But we’ve been doing this long enough to know that there are no such things as ‘chance’ meetings. Things happen as they do in their own time and place and generally at the moment that they need to happen.”
“The Off Daze met Mayiia in Paris under the most unique of circumstances,” they continued. “We will save that wild story for a later date. Suffice it to say that the first session with her went SO WELL that we flew her in from Berlin, Germany and recorded an EP’s worth of material with her in Atlanta. Mayiia is magical. She’s made of galaxy matter and pixie dust.”
