Following a collection of projects under the Dag Savage umbrella with Exile, Johaz is currently putting in work on a solo project called 06 Summer.
Looking at a January release, the product of San Diego officially kicked off the campaign last month with a new posse cut, “Eyes of the City” featuring Blame One, CashUs King, Donel Smokes and G Rocka.
“I initially got the idea for the song while watching ‘Self Destruction’ by The Stop The Violence Movement and ‘We’re All In The Same Gang’ by The West Coast All-Stars videos back-to-back,” Johaz told hhdx. “Once Stro Elliot sent me the beat, that sparked the lyrics and set the landscape for my partners in rhyme to assist. I think it’s the perfect song to launch my label, Enivid Music Group, with.”
Now, as the album creeps to its final form, Johaz is back at the DopeHouse with a dual video not only for “Eyes of the City,” but also revisits Dag Savage’s Furnace EP with a clip for one of the standouts, “If You’re Down.”
