For the first time in nearly two years, both of the City Girls — Yung Miami and JT — have dropped a new song.
A little backstory: since 2018 City Girls member Jatavia Shakara — née, JT — had been in prison serving a sentence for credit card fraud charges, right when the group began to ascend. While the term was originally slated to end in March 2020, JT would be released in October. She would also release her first post-prison track, “JT First Day Out.”
However, right when JT would be released Yung Miami would give birth to her daughter almost immediately after. So while there hasn’t been plans for the two to perform together for the very first time (I imagine that a major chunk of the 2020 festivals will have them, however), the pair have now released their new track “You Tried It.” Hear it below.
