At Long Last, Cam’ron Drops ‘Purple Haze 2’ Album

blame it on Meka December 20, 2019

Fifteen years ago, Cam’ron was in the middle of a personal renaissance.

Recovered from his early-career missteps, ditching Epic Records for the Roc and releasing his platinum-selling Come Home With Me. He would put his partners on soon after, dropping the Gold-selling Diplomatic Immunity.

Then he started wearing pink… like, a lot of it. During the (real) pinkprint he would release what many people feel is his best album. Purple Haze.

(This writer feels that Come Home With Me is the stronger offering, but apples and oranges.)

Cam is back with his first album in ten years, Purple Haze 2. A 16-track release, the album is led by the singles “Big Deal,” “This Is My City” and “Believe In Flee.” Meanwhile Wale, Max B, Mimi, Disco Black, Jim Jones and Shooter are featured throughout.
