Jadakiss Embraces the Pain on Fifth Solo Album, ‘Ignatius’

blame it on Shake March 5, 2020

Although it’s been five years since Top 5 Dead or Alive, Jadakiss has kept busy with a series of remixes and guest verses, teaming with Fabolous on Friday On Elm Street, and dropping Filthy America with The LOX.

Now, with a Roc Nation deal in place, the raspy one is officially back in action with the release of his fifth solo album, Ignatius. The title is an ode to Ignatius “Icepick” Jackson, a Ruff Ryders A&R/producer, manager, and personal friend to Kiss, who tragically passed away in 2017.

“The project is beautiful,” Kiss told hhdx. “It’s not like nothing out there. It’s not turn-up; it’s real pain… just real music. It’s real musical. It’s beautiful. You need it. I love how it’s put together sonically. I think my fans, old and new, will be able to really enjoy this body of work.”

Locked in at 13 tracks, including “ME” and “Kisses to the Sky” with Rick Ross, the album also features contributions from Pusha T, Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, 2 Chainz, DeJ Loaf, Nino Man, and a few more.

  1. “Pearly Gates”
  2. “Huntin’ Season” f. Pusha T
  3. “Keep It 100”
