Giveon Delivers His Debut Project, ‘Take Time’

After capturing the attention of many with his guest appearance on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle” earlier this month, Long Beach-bred singer Giveon is looking to take advantage with the release of his debut project, Take Time.

“What I want people to take away from this project is relatability,” he told Teen Vogue. “Each song on the project is based on a true story. Most of them are me looking back at past situations, but a few are inspired by what my friends went through.”

Equipped with seven songs (including “Like I Want You“) and an interlude, Giveon draws inspiration from the “black women heartbreak music” he grew up on to deliver a healthy dose of soulful music that details the “three stages of a love story: infatuation, turmoil, and heartbreak.”

Featuring production from Sevn Thomas, Boi-1da (who is battling Hit-Boy tonight), River Tiber, WondaGurl, and more, the EP can be heard below. Press play and be sure to add Take Time wherever you consume music.
