Almost eight years since the release of her sixth album, Two Eleven, and it looks like Brandy is gearing up to fully return to the music scene. After releasing the audio, the singer has released a matching video for her Chance The Rapper-guested single “Baby Mama.”

The single serves as both an ode to raising her daughter Sy’rai and an anthem to all mothers working hard to support their family. “The inspiration for ‘Baby Mama’ was my daughter and how she makes me a better person,” Brandy said. “I wanted to do a song about her and speak to all baby mama’s out there that may feel like they can’t make it or they can’t push through, you know, if you use your child as an inspiration you can do anything and I want to everybody to feel that.”

Brandy has also partnered with Homes for the Holidays, part of Warrick Dunn (yes, the former NFL star) Charities, which partners with affordable housing providers to reduce the financial burden on single parent homeowners by fully furnishing their new house, providing down payment assistance, and stocking the pantry with food and other household necessities.
