Ever since it moved from FOX to TBS, Seth MacFarlane’s American Dad has arguably been able to spread its wings a bit more (and, definitely, it’s gotten a lot more raunchier now that it’s on cable television). During last night’s (May 4) episode, they invited The Weeknd to co-write it alongside Joel Hurwitz.
Titled “A Starboy Is Born,” Abel–who told Variety he’s been a longtime fan of the show–wanted to “play a character that was the opposite of the public’s perception of me.” During the episode, that “opposite” was on full display during the debut of an original song he wrote: “The Weeknd’s Dark Secret.”
