7xvethegenius – “The Thrill”

blame it on Meka May 14, 2020

Some of the talent coming from Buffalo, NY is well-known at this point (Griselda), but The Bison City is hoping to make a larger imprint in the state’s hip hop scene.

While Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher have reimagined gritty, street style rap, 7xvethegenius (pronounced, “Love The Genius”) is hoping to introduce a more soulful and introspective style similar to artists like Tierra Whack and Noname. Readying her new project, Self 7xve, on May 25th, the artist — who also is a working professional in the tech field — 7xve wants to spread more positive energy during the weird time the planet is living in. “I wanted this music to get into the foundation of who I am as an artist but to also bring the feeling back that a lot of people lost, and that could vary, but that’s why the cover is like that and can be interpreted many different ways because that’s real, that’s art, that’s life,” she says.

She has also released the first single from the project, “The Thrill.” Check it out below.
