Back in January, The Neptunes revealed they have been “locked in the studio for the past 12 months” working with everyone from Jay-Z and Lil Uzi Vert to Brandy and Snoh Aalegra. Safe to say, we’ve been waiting.
Unfortunately, outside of Pharrell adding a rap verse to Snoh’s “Woah,” none of the collaborations have yet to be revealed. Instead, P and and Chad Hugo have teamed up with EDM specialist deadmau5 on a new/(old) song called “Pomegranate.”
“The track without Pharrell singing on it has actually been kicking around for 5 years just kinda sitting in my burner pile of ideas,” Deadmau5 told Zane Lowe on Apple Music. “I caught wind of them getting the band back together last year and I though ‘hey, let me look through my spank bank of stuff and see if anything catches your ear’ and Pharrell had a listen to that old demo… then we met up in the studio.”
