Dave Chappelle Releases Surprise Standup Special, ‘8:46’

Yep, I’m not doing anything else until I watch this.

A few days ago, Dave Chappelle announced that he would be doing a social distancing standup comedy special. On June 6, he did the show… from the comfort of his house.

That show, dubbed 8:46, follows his 2017 Netflix standup The Bird Revelation and 2019 show Sticks & Stones, and like its predecessor debuted on the streaming platform. But here’s the kicker: he just dropped it, for free, on Netflix’ Youtube page! The 27-minute showcase is inspired by the tragic death of George Floyd (the title itself is derived from the time the four cops who brutally murdered Floyd knelt on his neck and body), and while it’ a largely serious affair there are some humorous spots (there’s definitely another Ja Rule reference once again).
