It’s been just a little over a month since Jon Connor delivered his S.O.S. album. The 18-track project, his first official one since 2013, welcomed features from Locksmith, Termanology, A-F-R-O, Jarren Benton, Daylyt, and more. Returning to share his thoughts on the world, Connor returns with “Black.”
The song, which he revealed in a press release was written a year ago, finds him celebrating his culture and condemning those who make life a living hell for Black America.
Speaking on the track, Connor said, “It saddens me that a song I wrote about such a grim topic a year ago would be even more relevant and necessary today than it was then. For me, the race issues in our country aren’t a fad or a hot topic for the moment. It’s my life and the everyday experience of all Black people in this county.”
