For a variety of reasons it doesn’t work out. Some people don’t want your reality, or sometimes you just run out of time and aren’t able to set things up before it’s too late. This whole verse is based on a true relationship and my feelings of regret after losing an old friend. I thought it was powerful to start it off and say I loved you.”
