As her fans anxiously await for a proper follow-up to her debut album, Jorja Smith has kept busy with covers, theme songs for acclaimed Netflix series, collabos and other loose tracks. She now drops a new track, “By Any Means.”
The single is the leadoff for Roc Nation’s forthcoming compilation project, Reprise. Reprise, comprised of various artists, was compiled with hopes to bring awareness to social justice issues, with a portion of the project’s proceeds going towards funding organizations that support victims of police brutality, hate crimes, and other violations of civil rights.
“The inspiration behind ‘By Any Means’ really came from going to the Black Lives Matter protest and leaving thinking, what can I do to keep this conversation going?” Jorja said in a statement. “It’s not just a post on social media, it’s life.”
