At one point in his career, the sky was the limit for Big Sean. Fresh off dropping Dark Sky Paradise in 2015, it seemed as if the Detroit native shrugged off the sophomore slump and was destined to takeover.
Unfortunately, despite scoring another #1 album with I Decided and making noise with his Twenty 88 project with Jhené Aiko, the quality in music hasn’t quite matched what once was. I mean, Double or Nothing was… not it.
Looking to get back on the right path, Big Sean is revisiting 2012’s Detroit– which most fans will champion as the best project in his catalog–with a proper sequel in the form of his fifth studio album, Detroit 2.
Locked and loaded with 21 tracks (three being “story” interludes from Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle and Stevie Wonder), the album includes features from the late Nipsey Hussle (on the incredibly dope “Deep Reverence“), Lil Wayne, Eminem, Travis Scott, Royce 5’9, Young Thug, Dwele, Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhené Aiko, Wale, Hit-Boy, Post Malone, Boldy James, Dom Kennedy, Diddy, and a few others.
