Big Sean’s ‘Detroit 2’ Goes No. 1

Nearly two weeks after sharing his fifth album, Big Sean notches his third consecutive and overall No. 1 album with Detroit 2. The 21-track project boasts features from Nipsey Hussle, Wale, Dom Kennedy, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. In its first week, Detroit 2 posted 103,000 album units to grab the No. 1 spot.

Celebrating the feat, Big Sean took to Instagram to celebrate with fans. “Thank you! I sacrificed my privacy, I put so many emotions and lessons I learned the hard way into this music and gave a honest glimpse into my heart!” he said in the post.

“My goal was to inspire YOU to turn yourself up in all ways, Mind, Body, n Soul. Life isn’t promised as we can see, so HAVE FUN and thank you so much for the #1 album for a 3rd time in a row! Let’s KEEP GOING, Why Would I stop?!”

As for other notable names on the charts, Pop Smoke’s Shoot For The Moon, Aim For The Stars clocks in at No. 2, Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die at No. 3, Lil Baby’s My Turn at No. 7, Rod Wave’s Pray 4 Love at No. 8, and DaBaby’s Blame It On Baby at No. 9.
