One of the earliest heralds to usher back in the gritty, soulful boom bap of New York-based mainstream rap music, Roc Marciano‘s DNA arguably set the blueprints for some of today’s notable artists from the Empire Stare.
From any member of the Griselda camp (pick one, any one), who have credited him for partially inspiring their own sound, to rejuvenated new jacks like Stove God Cooks (who had Roc produce his latest project, Reasonable Drought, in its entirety). Roc’s fingerprints are everywhere.
Now, a year after his last project Marcielago, Roc Marci has dropped its follow-up Mt. Marci. A 16-song album, the project features from ScHoolboy Q, Stove God, Action Bronson, Kool Keith and Trent Truce.
After initially releasing it exclusively on his site, Roc has formally dropped the project across the streaming platforms. Check it out below.
