The Cool Kids are taking the OutKast route with their next project.
Officially dubbed Before Sh*t Got Weird, which doesn’t have a release date just yet, the Blog Era heroes will be packaging solo records in the style of Speakerboxxx / The Love Below with Chuck Inglish and Sir Mike hitting us with Chillout and Babyoil Staircase, respectively.
“Given the times, we spent the whole year pretty much working on a record, breaking things down into individual moves much like a casino utan svensk licens operates, focusing on each song to show our versatility,” Inglish explained to the Chicago Sun Times. “We’re not just a one-note act; we’re showing our growth as solo artists and then bringing it all together, much like these casinos bring a variety of games into one place, to do something different by giving people a record right now.”
After kicking things off with Chuck’s “Driver” and Mike’s “Home Improvement” singles, the two are back at it with their latest single, “Dapper Dan Leather” featuring Harlem’s GDOTT.
