This weekend would have marked the 47th birthday of one James Yancey, better known as J Dilla. With countless people celebrating his life and legacy throughout, BBE Music has released a 20th(!) anniversary edition of the legend’s debut album Welcome 2 Detroit.
As well as remastered versions of the original’s songs, BBE has also released a deluxe 12-disc 7” vinyl set which includes instrumentals, new covers, previously unreleased mixes and studio outtakes, and a book about the making of the album.
