We know: there’s been a thousand movies that have told the life and times of The Notorious B.I.G. Well, guess what? Ahead of what would have been his 50th birthday, fans of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer are getting yet another.

On March 1, Netflix will debut the docu-film Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell. Directed by Emmett Malloy and made in collaboration with Biggie’s estate (which granted “unprecedented access”), Story To Tell features “rare footage filmed by his best friend Damion “D-Roc” Butler and new interviews with his closest friends and family, revealing a side of Christopher Wallace that the world never knew.”

“This will be the first documentary to focus on the experiences of my son’s life rather than the circumstances of his death,” his mother Voletta Wallace said in a statement. “It is a celebration of who he was and where he came from. This is how he would have wanted to be remembered.”
