Vic Mensa Drops ‘I TAPE’ EP

blame it on Meka March 26, 2021

Since releasing his breakout project INNANETAPE in 2013, Vic Mensa has kept faithful to its namesake with 2020’s V TAPE. He has now followed that up with the I TAPE.

“The I TAPE is a cry for freedom, a visceral look into the soul of a man in America,” Mensa said in a statement. “Lyrically I wanted to explore themes of rebellion and incarceration, weaving real stories with hard truths.”

A seven-song drop, the project is led by the single “Shelter.” It also features contributions and production from Wyclef Jean, Chance The Rapper, Zacari, Just Blaze, and more.
