Netflix has dedicated a significant amount of time, energy, and resources to become one of the more diverse VOD platforms, with a myriad of movies spread across a multicultural spectrum. With a reported extensive Kanye West documentary arriving later in 2021, the platform will release a forthcoming drama executive produced by Nas and John Legend, Monster.
A film adaptation of Walter Dean Myers’s 1999 novel, the film follows a 17-year-old who gets convicted of murder. Nas also portrays an inmate, while A$AP Rocky, John David Washington, Jennifer Hudson, and Jeffrey Wright co-star.
Monster arrives on Netflix May 7. A trailer for the film can be seen below.
