Back during its reign on the charts (and, subsequently, Suge Knight’s reign of terror in the music industry), Death Row Records released one of the (unquestionably) best movie soundtracks of all time for the 1994 film Above The Rim. The soundtrack was home to many popular songs, most notably SWV’s “Anything” and Warren G and Nate Dogg’s “Regulate.”

Death Row — which at the moment, pending a sale to The Blackstone Group, is owned by the toy, board game, and media company Hasbro — is celebrating the soundtrack by releasing a deluxe edition of the album. Along with remastered versions of the original 18 songs, three songs make their DSP debut including 2Pac’s “Pain” with Stretch. Brandon Squar, SVP of Sales and Marketing at Entertainment One says, “The Above the Rim soundtrack has been a part of basketball culture and lifestyle since its original release in 1994. Death Row Records is proud to continue our 30th anniversary festivities by celebrating this classic music with new and loyal fans in innovative and exciting ways.”
