Right after Pusha T announced his album’s release date, Kendrick Lamar has done the same.

In the summer of 2021, Lamar — under the new alias oklama — revealed that his next album wold be his final under his longtime label home Top Dawg Entertainment. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators,” he said. “As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all.”

Returning to his pgLang e-home, Lamar — not unlike when Michael Jordan announced his first NBA comeback — left a succinct message on the site:

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, the musician’s fifth album dropping May 13th, will be Kendrick’s first solo album since 2017’s DAMN., and first since 2018’s Black Panther: The Album compilation.
