JID Shares “29” Freestyle

It’s almost story time.

After kicking off the year in “Surround Sound” and helping his Dreamville fam deliver their D-Day mixtape with DJ Drama, JID is back in the lab putting the final touches on his highly-anticipated album, The Forever Story.

Until then, the Spillage Village rep decided to flex some new flows over Christo production on his latest release, “29.”

“We pushing these envelopes of sound and flow and pockets and all that sh*t in this next body of work,” JID said on Twitter while sharing the freestyle. “I appreciate Christo always being light years ahead with his ear and experimentation. Just a lil freestyle for ya – real light. Might be a lot to digest but it’s fresh, no comparisons this time around.”

“Love how uncomfortable ’29’ makes people feel,” he continued. “But if you find the swing I was rapping to in the beat, you will hear it totally different. It lets us know how much rhythm you really have — or lack there of lol.”

Press play below and keep scrolling for a recent guest verse from JID where he went absolutely crazy on Mike Dimes‘ “Home” remix (which I used to kick off the latest Weekly Dope playlist).
