While DopeHouse favorite TeaMarrr has been relatively quiet since the release of her Before I Spill Myself project in 2020, she kept busy working with the likes of Wale, SiR, DUCKWRTH, and Meer Colon, while landing placements on shows like HBO’s Insecure. Now it looks like she is planning a full-fledged return.
Her first drop of 2022, the Boston-born and Los Angeles-based songstress has shared the single “Wasted.” “That’s the only place I can actually let [my] energy out,” TeaMarrr said about her music to Complex. “[If someone’s not doing their job], I can’t be like, Dude, you had one job. What is wrong [with you]? I can’t do that to a person, but I could do that in a song and that saves me. I’ve never been afraid to express myself. I think I’m more afraid to express myself now because of how it’s going to come off, but I’m like, No, I can do whatever here. Because everybody’s felt this way, whether it’s today [or] tomorrow.”
