It looks like big samples are the main dish on tonight’s menu. On top of Nicki Minaj being a “Super Freaky Girl” to Rick James and YG flipping Mary J Blige into a “Toxic” anthem, Tyga joins the party with a twist on Lip Flip’s 2004 hit, “Sunshine.”

With Jhené Aiko rehashing the nostalgic chorus, the song – produced by Mike Crook and DJ Swish – also features a verse from the late Pop Smoke; who Tyga previously worked with on “West Coast Sh*t.”

“Pop Smoke was a legend in the making and I wish we could’ve collaborated together more,” Tyga says. “It’s a been a great experience working with his mother and brother to pay homage with this song and contributing to keeping his legacy alive — the smoke will never clear.”

“Sunshine” was released with an equally vintage video, that features appearances from Flip, as well as Pop Smoke’s mother Audrey Jackson and brother Obasi Jackson.

“The video and song solidifies that Pop wasn’t all about drill and I appreciate hearing his voice on a song like this,” Obasi said. “It shows there was love in his heart with a story to tell and his legacy was more than drill music. I’m glad that he gets to be seen in a different light.”
