As he readies the release of his anticipated fifth solo project — and first since 2018’s Freddie$oul $old $eparately, due Sept. 30, Freddie Gibbs is currently running the gauntlet of album promotion, recently checking in to ESPN’s Jalen & Jacoby and stopping by Hot 97 for a chat and freestyle session on Funk Flex’ long-running series.

The freestyle (which starts at about the four-minute mark), obviously, will garner the most attention. Using the instrumental of Amerie’s classic “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” as the backdrop, Gibbs has a few words for former friend Benny The Butcher and “DJ” Akademiks. Guess we’re never getting another “Frank Lucas” now…

Gibbs has also shared the tracklisting for $$$. Anchored by the focus tracks “Too Much” and (maybe) “Lobster Omlette” (which may be the new title for “Ice Cream“), the project will also feature appearances from Kelly Price, Offset, Moneybagg Yo, Rick Ross, Anderson .Paak, Raekwon, Pusha T, Scarface, DJ Paul, and Musiq Soulchild.
