Atmosphere Is “Sculpting With Fire” On New Single

blame it on Shake October 7, 2022

Almost a year to the day after releasing their latest album WORD?, Atmosphere is back at the DopeHouse with a new single, “Sculpting With Fire.”

Arriving in the midst of yet another tour (seriously, these guys live on the road – while the wife and I stay in attendance), Slug proceeds to treat Ant’s production like a canvas with lines like, “It’s all graffiti underneath the bridge/ Like if it wasn’t for my kids I wouldn’t need to exist/ I’d probably live in the backseat of my taxi/ Get my meter up to keep enough to buy myself some happy/ The lonely fisherman rocking with the sea change/ Karaoking ‘Nuthin’ but a G Thang,'” and “It’s all about how you handle your losses/ And whether or not you recognize that you’re toxic/ You’re a product of putting the prophecy below the profit/ The pirate treasure’s always buried next to monsters, or lava, the promise of trauma.”
