Shame Gang Shares ‘Better Late Than Never’ Album

North Carolina-based musician Shame Gang shares a lot of similarities with Dreamville signee (and 2Dope alum) Lute: he still has a “regular job” while getting out his musical dreams (whereas Lute would hilariously Twitter vent about his times at Wal-Mart back in the day, Shame — née Darren Clark — moonlights as a professional car mechanic). So, it seemed inevitable that the two’s paths would cross, as Shame would perform at Lute’s Dreamville Fest’s kickoff event Goldmouf Garage.

Shame has now released his latest project, Better Late Than Never, via Manifest Destiny/Roc Nation’s Equity Distribution. “I feel like this album is my official arrival to who I want to be on this rap journey, and the sound I want to continue to enhance. I’ve finally arrived and it took some time but I’m finally here,” Shame says about the album. “I hope listeners will take away [from this album] that you don’t have to make up a fake story about your life just so it sounds good on records or it’s a trend. Just be yourself and tell your story and everything else will come in time.”

Alongside Lute, the 12-song drop also features SkyzooSmoke DZA, Little Brother’s Rapper Big PoohOswin Benjamin, and more. Stream Better Late Than Never, below.
