Chance The Rapper Releases “Complete Edition” Of ‘Acid Rap’ Mixtape

blame it on Meka May 2, 2023

Already buzzing heavily thanks to its predecessor, 2012’s 10 Day, Chance The Rapper would release what many consider to be his breakout release Acid Rap on April 30, 2013. While both projects have been on the DSP’s for some time now, Chance —who is currently readying a set of ten-year anniversary shows in Chicago, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles — has released a “Complete Edition” of the mixtape on the streaming platforms.

Acid Rap firmly established the artist as one of Chicago’s next up, thanks to tracks like “Cocoa Butter Kisses,” “Favorite Song” with Childish Gambino (which prompted and fueled those endless “joint album” rumors), and features from Action Bronson and Ab-Soul among others. What makes this version different from the 2019 DSP predecessor, however, is that the original and full version of “Juice” has returned (it was initially a bizarre, 30-second clip due to sample clearance issues).
