The name (or or face for that matter, as she quite literally keeps it covered seemingly all the time) Leikeli47 may not be familiar to some, but the Brooklyn creative notched a buzzing single in “F*ck the Summer Up,” served as the musical muse for Alexander Wang’s SS16 NYFW fashion show and was co-signed by JAY Z who included the song on his inaugural TIDAL playlist. She has now released a new mixtape, 47 Part III. Musically her style is reminiscent of another New York spitfire, Azealia Banks, with her penchant for effortlessly switching between singing and rapping over high-pace backdrops. But make no mistake, Leikeli47 is uniquely different in her own way. Peep the opening salvo “B*tch Switch,” where she crafts a perfect theme song for the average stressed-out New Yorker. Stream the 20-track project below.
