Detox Doesn’t Exist

blame it on Shake September 17, 2014

During a sit down with Jeff Weiss and Nocando as part of their Shots Fired podcast, longtime Aftermath producer Dawaun Parker takes some time out to speak on Dr. Dre’s loooong-delayed Detox LP.

Confirming what Marsha Ambrosius hinted at in a interview from earlier this year, Detox, the name, is no longer.

“He scrapped Detox a couple of years ago and came up with another title. I won’t say what the title is cause I haven’t seen that online or anything yet.”

DP continues to reveal there are hundreds of beats laying around but “the amount of songs isn’t that much because he won’t let anything that already wasn’t potentially a 10 to even get recorded,” and that Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip and Marsha’s “Get You Some” was originally slated for the LP as well.

The discussion continues with Dawaun speaking on producing for Eminem and 50 Cent, his artist Phil Beaudreau, attending Berklee School of Music, and more.

In addition, Nocando and Jeff discuss Ferguson and racism, KCon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Taylor Swift.
