The last time Swedish singer Elliphant rolled through the DopeHouse, she came along with Skrillex. I wasn’t quite enjoying the generic nature nor the vocal performance — it was screechy as hell. This, though? I’m digging the hell out of this.
With her Living Life Golden LP dropping tomorrow, Elliphant delivers the high-energy “Everybody” featuring Azealia Banks. The two note how “everybody,” meaning a general overview of the world, is the same. And “everybody,” hopefully not meaning you or I, aren’t motivated to do anything or be themselves. “Everybody wanna bite, everybody want to pick a bone,” Elliphant sings before Banks delivers a verse with a “piss off” vibe, reciprocating her anti-industry feelings.
