Ye Ali has been making all the right moves with his music.

Although the multi-faceted singer hasn’t released a project in 2016, he’s remained on our radar with a series of loosies, and a trio of bedroom anthems with Kirko Bangz.

Last month, Ali teamed up with Wes Period and Tommy Genesis for the funky and infectious “Young Girl.” Noticing the chemistry was too good to ignore, the trio decided to form a group—baby.daddi—and release a project under the same name.

“‘Baby.daddi’ is a reflection of the chemistry the three of us had,” Ye Ali told The FADER. “Usually I take the lead in creating all of my tracks but this time I got to share the experience with someone else. It was great to be a baby in the sense of creative space. All good leaders are great followers.”

Today, we get the first official taste of what Ali, Period and Genesis have in store for us with their forthcoming EP, as they deliver a self-titled groove—produced by Chuck Inglish, Soulection’s ESTA and Wes Period.
