For the last several Mondays, Nipsey Hussle has kickstarted his weekly music series — Marathon Mondays — with a steady stream of great tracks: “Status Symbol 2,” “Ocean Views,” “The Field,” and “I Do This” are among the highlights. With anticipation for a new full-length album (there were rumors of he and YG connecting for a collaborative release, but “FDT” has been the only thing released thus far) rising, Neighborhood Nip returns with the Mike & Keys-produced “Down As Great.”
With a rejuvenated Kirko Bangz riding shotgun, the song is another smooth cruise down Crenshaw Blvd. After falling back for most of 2015, Nip appears more focused than ever and it ready to capitalize on it.
