Last week, Lil Wayne had fans going nuts with the possibility of him hanging up the mic. But then came a performance at Made In America, a theme song for Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe’s new sports show, and countless artists — including Kendrick Lamar — sharing hope that Wayne would continue to make music.

Tonight, there’s a different narrative starting, with Lil Wayne releasing a new song, “Grateful,” with longtime Young Money member Gudda Gudda.

Uploaded on Tidal, the StreetRunner and Rugah Rahj-produced track finds Wayne addressing his recent absence, issues with Birdman, and his overall hopes of pushing forward with a better future.
