One of the best interviewers around, Nardwuar the Human Serviette has been working on his craft for nearly 30 years. But back in the days before YouTube — where the interviewer really blew up to the masses — was even a tangible idea, Nardwaur was around interviewing musicians for radio stations and TV.
One night in Tacoma, Washington in 2002, Nardwuar ran into Destiny’s Child (Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams) backstage and conducted a quick interview.
In that same year, the Human Serviette met Beyoncé’s younger sister, Solange, who was only 16 at the time. Giving Nardwuar a bit more time than her older sister’s group, Solange talked about growing up dancing and singing in malls before Nardwuar went off about holes in the 8 Mile story line, because of course.
