Will 2017 finally be the year we get a new project from Rejjie Snow? It seems like we’re heading that way.

The Irish rapper has spent much of the last three years releasing solid loosie after loosie, like “D.R.U.G.S.” and “Blakkst Skn,” while he’s been working on his debut album.

Today, in an interview with The FADER, he said he’s going to drop an “art project” called The Moon In You before the album comes out, and he also debuted the project’s first single, “Crooked Cops.”

One of his most aggressive efforts to date, the influence from the anger toward the 5-0 comes from a tangible place.

“Me and my producer were watching some black exploitation films and that’s kind of where the initial idea came from,” he told The FADER of his new song. “One of my boys had just got locked up for some things so I was just on some anti-police shit. When Rahki made the beat I had a lot of emotions. I must have written the song in 30 minutes and I guess that’s why I sound different, I was feeling aggressive and angry.”

“Crooked Cops” is produced by Rahki. Snow said The Moon In You will be out “ASAP,” will have a feature from Joey Bada$$ and will come along with a short film.
