There are only seven songs on Daye Jack’s most recent project, Surf The Web, but he’s done a lot with those seven tracks. “Finish Line,” “Bullshit” and “Deep End” have all gotten videos, and he took the project on the road for much of 2016.
Revisiting the project one more time, the Atlanta native gives “Raw” a remix featuring Virginia rapper DP and Denzel Curry. The boom-bap beat is simple, and it allows the three to flow freely over each 16 dabbling in various flows and content.
“‘Raw’ is about being yourself to the fullest. It’s an ode to the kid who’s picked on for not fitting into societies boxes,” he told The FADER, who premiered the song. “It’s liberating to look in the mirror, accept your flaws and say ‘I’m fucking awesome.'”
