For the last ten years, The Roots have held a one-day music music festival in Philadelphia in the summer. They’ve since expanded the festival — or picnics — to having a New York City branch, but Philly will always be the festival’s home.
This summer’s show, on June 3 at the Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing, is headlined by a joint performance from Pharrell and The Roots, Lil Wayne, Solange, 21 Savage, Thundercat, Noname and plenty more. Last year’s show saw Usher and The Roots join for a show, with Future, Leon Bridges and others make their way to Philly.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now, and they only run about $75 a pop. Visit the Roots Picnic website to cop tickets.
