Mike WiLL Made It has been teasing a follow-up to 2014’s Ransom for a few years now, back when it was originally supposed to be the third installment of his Est. In 1989 series. In between that, he’s lent his signature, bass-crushing sonics to everyone from Beyoncé to Gucci Mane, formally introduced Rae Sremmurd to the world, and has won his fair share of awards.
Since revealing the release date and sharing the tracklist earlier this month, Mike has spent each day this week releasing new tunes—including “Gucci On My” with 21 Savage, Migos and YG, the album’s Big Sean-guested opener, “Hasselhoff” with Lil Yachty, the sing-songy “Come Down” with Rae Sremmurd and Chief Keef, “Razzle Dazzle” with Future, the
Pharrell Station Wagon P-assisted “Aries (YuGo),” and “Perfect Pint” with Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane and Rae Sremmurd.
Now, as he celebrates his 28th year on earth, Mike has officially released his debut studio album, Ransom 2.
Keeping in tune with its predecessor, the album is a star-studded affair, with contributions from everyone listed above, plus Rihanna (“Nothing Is Promised“), Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Problem, Eearz, 2 Chainz and more.
