Allan Kingdom is dropping an album in two weeks on April 7 (along with 2 Chainz, Joey Bada$$ and Kendrick Lamar, we assume). After announcing the project — LINES — at the beginning of the month with “Know About It,” the MLPS native shares the second single, “Vibes” featuring producer Cadenza.
“[Allan] came to my studio and we listened to beats for like three hours and just talked,” Cadenza told Pigeons & Planes of meeting Kingdom. “We decided we wanted to capture the excitement of what we had going so extended his trip. We recorded ‘Vibes’ on the second night I think and we both knew we had something.”
The song is soft and melodic, given energy from pounding drums and snaps. Just as the hook says, the song is “all about the vibes.”
