New York emcee Pounds has ushered in a new wave of hardcore underground rap since his return to the House of Dope in 2016, releasing singles such as “Write a Check,” “Tributes” with Westside Gunn, and “Tony,” wrapping things up with his Heavy Lies the Crown LP and a video for the Conway-assisted “Kill You.”
Now, the street poet with the familiar guttural voice is back with his Tuna EP, painting slick tales spanning from the local street corners of his hometown of Rochester to the far-reaching blocks across the Big Apple.
At just 9-tracks, the EP pulls in guest features from Conway plus production from Spittzwell, Max Marciano and Griselda Records affiliate Daringer.
