To the surprise of many, Dan The Automator took to his Instagram page and announced that Dr. Octagon — the collaborative trio of himself, Kool Keith and DJ Qbert — would return, “his” first appearance since being “killed off” on Keith’s 2008 album Dr. Dooom 2.
As it turns out, Dr. Octagon will formally returns with a new album, Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation. The first project together since Keith’s solo debut album Dr. Octagonecologyst in 1996 (the “second” Dr. Octagon project, 2006’s The Return of Dr. Octagon, was largely completed without Keith, QBert or Dan’s involvement), Moosebumps is slated to drop April 6th. The trio have also dropped the first single, “Octagon Octagon,” which can be heard below.
