While he’s normally one of Memphis’ more free-spirited and light-hearted artists, Blac Youngsta comes from as rough a life as anyone else. So, in his video for “Late” — taken from his debut album 2.23, he takes a more somber route (in contrast to, say, his off-the-hinges “Booty” video).
Directed by Mr. Boomtown, Youngsta opens up about his own personal struggles — hustling to keep food in his belly, striving to keep his his mother happy, and the like — before celebrating that he made it out of the trap at the end. Watch below.
