Well, look who dropped new tunes out of nowhere.
In honor of Mother’s Day, André 3000 has broken his mini-long term hiatus with a two-track EP, Look Ma No Hands. Composed of “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” and the title track, the songs couldn’t be more… André 3000: on the former Three Stacks reminiscing on good times he had as a youth with his late mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, who died one day after his birthday in 2013, and father, over a smooth piano-driven backdrop, while the latter is a 17-minute long jazz instrumental that features Dre on bass and clarinet, and James Blake on piano.
“Happy Mother’s Day,” André said on Instagram (yes, he has one). “I’m sure all the cards, dinners, flowers and last minute gifts are appreciated but I’ve learned the best gift a parent could get is to simply know their child is ok.”
