Kwamie Liv Returns With “Follow My Heart”

It’s been a while since the DopeHouse has heard from Kwamie Liv: 2015, to be exact. However, the Denmark-reared songstress returns with a new single, “Follow My Heart.”

The track is a precursor off Liv’s forthcoming debut album, Lovers That Come and Go, which is slated to arrive sometime in the Fall of 2018. “‘Follow my Heart’ was written at a really fast time last year,” she explains. “There were changes in my private life, I was traveling a lot in between working on my upcoming album, and had just come home from a road trip across America with two friends who were somewhat in the same phase of life as I was – all of us going 100 miles an hour but also really appreciating our freedom and meeting amazing people along the way. For the video, I wanted to direct something that reflected that off-the-cuff raw energy. No big set up, just the DOP, Taj and I walking around with a camera looking for that golden moment. When my friends Jeffrey and Dawanna walked in, it was obvious. They both embody this beautiful balance between fierce strength and vulnerability, something I really admire in people. I was basically like ‘We’re going for a walk- just do you.'”

She has also released a self-directed visual for “Follow My Heart,” which can be seen below.
